LEANDER, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- A water main break prompted early release of Leander High School students and a boil water notice for portions of Leander on Tuesday.

City officials say the break was discovered around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning on Bagdad Road near Osage Drive.

In addition to Leander High School, the Cedar Ridge Apartments, the Shops at Leander complex, and other properties along Blueline Drive were impacted.

Crews finished repairs to the line around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. The boil water notice remains in effect for affected properties until the water samples can be tested and cleared.

Leander ISD released students at Leander High early Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. District officials said that classes would operate normally on Wednesday, with bottled water available for students; however, officials do encourage students to bring their own drinking water if possible. Additional updates are available on Leander ISD's website.
