Williamson County Coronavirus Updates COVID-19

WILLIAMSON COUNTY (Talk1370.com) -- A woman in her 80s became the 22nd person to die of COVID-19 in Williamson County, as local health officials reported 12 new cases Monday.

The update brings the total number of confirmed cases to 565, 325 of which are considered to be recovered.

"Today, we are saddened by the news of another life lost too soon to the coronavirus. On this Memorial Day, as we honor the men and women who have courageously fought and died in our nation's military, let us also remember the people who have lost their lives fighting COVID-19," said County Judge Bill Gravell.  "All lives are precious. I urge you to take the steps necessary to protect more lives, particularly the most vulnerable among us, and follow health officials recommendations to wash hands often, avoid close contact with people outside your home, cover your nose and mouth with a cloth face-covering, and clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily."

13 patients are hospitalized, with 7 in intensive care and 3 on a ventilator.
