Williamson County reports 5 new cases of COVID-19, now at 55

WILLIAMSON COUNTY (Talk1370.com) -- Williamson County officials say they've confirmed 5 new cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday morning, pushing the county's total to 55 cases.

Based on data supplied by the Williamson County and Cities Health District, new cases were confirmed in Georgetown, Hutto, and Round Rock. A case was also reassigned from Cedar Park to Round Rock.

Two of the confirmed cases have recovered.

Here is the breakdown of cases by city:

  • Round Rock: 17
  • Georgetown: 10
  • Austin addresses inside Williamson County: 9
  • Cedar Park: 7
  • Leander: 7
  • Hutto: 5

60% of the cases in Williamson County are female; 40% are male. 25 of the 55 cases are in the 41-60 age group, while 16 of the cases are 40 or under and 14 of the cases are over the age of 60.

Only 20 of the 55 cases are tied to known travel; the remaining 25 either had no known travel to affected areas, or travel history had not yet been established.
