Are you finding yourself feeling really anxious about your future and the survival of others, animals and the Planet? Whether it's dealing w/ the Plastic Problem, Air Pollution, Your Carbon Footprint ... and the issues continue on. You probably have 'Climate Anxiety'. There are no clear statistics, but many organizations like the American Psychological Association recognize Climate Anxiety and believe it's on the rise. So how do we deal with it?  Here are a few 1Things that you can do to feel better while helping the planet.

  1. Learn as much as you can about the Climate Change Knowledge is power & understanding. Ask yourself questions: What does Climate Change mean for me? When will the worst happen? What can be done about it? Doing some research for the answers gives you the knowledge needed to understand it and having the power to deal with it. Less fear. Less anxiety. 
     
  2. Take action! This helps lift the cloud of helplessness & anxiety. Doing simple actions, 1Thing, such as walking & biking places ... when you're shopping using reusable bags ... turning off the water while brushing your teeth ... turning off the lights when you're not in a room.   3. Understand YOU are Not Alone There are millions of people across the world doing 1Thing to help make a difference. Even if you don't see it on a daily basis where you live. Get in touch online or with an off-line community of like-minded individuals will help change your persepective, and make the anxiety settle down. 
     
  4.  Be Kind & Patient with others, as well as yourself. There have been so many wrongs done to our planet over the past 100 plus years. It can seem like no matter what your efforts, positive change seems far away. Think of what you have done so far, or what you could do. Have compassion from others, educate and lead by example. You do 1Thing, it can make others want to follow. 
     
  5.  Live in the Present! Live in the Moment! Anxiety is caused by the 'Maybes' of what can happen tomorrow, rather than living in the 'Certainties' of what is being done today!  Live today, being present in each moment! 

Doing 1Thing will help curb climate anxiety while helping the planet setting a great example for others to follow.
